What is the Thailand Business Visa (Non-B)?

The Thailand Business Visa — officially the Non-Immigrant B visa (Non-B) — is the long-term visa for foreigners who come to Thailand to work, run a business, invest, or fill a specialist role for a Thai company. It is issued for 90 days (Single Entry) or 1 year (Multiple Entry, each stay up to 90 days), and inside Thailand it can be extended to a full 1-year stay at Phuket Immigration once you have a Thai Work Permit.

A Non-B visa works for two main profiles: foreign employees hired by a Thai company (including BOI-promoted businesses, schools and hospitals), and business owners or directors of their own Thai Limited Company. In both cases, the visa is paired with a Work Permit — without a Work Permit you cannot legally work in Thailand on Non-B. We handle the visa, support the Work Permit and Thai company registration end-to-end, even if the company does not exist yet.

Beyond the visa itself, we manage everything that comes with a long-term business stay in Phuket: 90-day reporting, TM30 registration, re-entry permits when you travel, annual visa extensions, Thai bank account opening, and BOI documentation when applicable. If your situation changes — for example, you marry a Thai citizen or you turn 50 — we can switch you onto a Marriage or Retirement Visa without leaving the country.

Who Needs a Thailand Business Visa — 4 Categories

Pick the category that matches your situation — we will confirm eligibility in WhatsApp

Foreign Employees

You have been hired (or are about to be hired) by a Thai company — a local business, a BOI-promoted company, a foreign branch office, or an international school or hospital. Your employer issues an invitation letter and supporting company documents; we handle the visa filing at the embassy or in-country.

Business Owners & Company Directors

You own or co-own a Thai company (Thai Limited Company), or you are appointed as a director. We support you with the Non-B visa AND can register your Thai Limited Company end-to-end — share capital, shareholders, company stamp, VAT registration and the supporting documents needed for your visa.

Investors & BOI Specialists

You are investing in a Thai BOI-promoted business or filling a specialist role for a BOI-promoted company. BOI cases enjoy faster immigration procedures (BOI One Stop Service in Bangkok), simpler Work Permit rules and fewer staffing restrictions. We work with your BOI documentation directly.

Foreign Teachers & Specialists

You are a foreign teacher in a Thai school or international institution, a Muay Thai or sports coach, a doctor, an engineer, or another licensed specialist invited by a Thai institution. Non-B is the standard visa for all these roles. Your school or institution prepares the invitation letter; we handle the rest.

Thailand Business Visa — FAQ

How can I work legally in Thailand as a foreigner?

To work legally in Thailand you need two documents: a Non-Immigrant B visa (Non-B) AND a Thai Work Permit. The Non-B alone is not enough — every foreigner working in Thailand must hold a valid Work Permit issued by the Department of Employment. Both documents are tied to your Thai employer or your own Thai company. We handle the full set in Phuket.

What is the difference between a Non-B visa and a Work Permit?

The Non-B visa is the immigration permission to stay in Thailand for business or work. The Work Permit is the labour permission that allows you to actually perform work. You always need both: visa first, then Work Permit. The visa is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Thai Immigration), the Work Permit by the Ministry of Labour (Department of Employment).

How much does a Business Visa in Thailand cost?

Our Business Visa starts at 27,000 THB for the initial Non-B (90 days). The full package (Non-B + 1-year extension) is 60,000 THB. The annual extension on its own is 50,000 THB. All government fees are included. Work Permit and Thai company registration are quoted separately on request.

How do I get a Non-B visa for Thailand?

There are two paths. (1) Embassy filing — you apply at the Thai embassy in your country with an invitation letter and full set of company documents. (2) In-country conversion — you enter Thailand on a tourist stamp and convert your status to Non-B at Phuket Immigration. We handle both paths.

Can I open a Thai company on a Business Visa?

Yes — and most business owners do exactly that. The standard flow is: register a Thai Limited Company first, then apply for the Non-B visa using the new company's documents, then file the Work Permit. We support the entire chain in Phuket. The detailed company registration service is on a separate page (coming soon).

How much capital does a Thai company need for Non-B?

A Thai Limited Company must have a registered capital of 2,000,000 THB per foreigner employed on a Non-B visa (this capital does not need to be fully paid in, only registered). The company also has to comply with the 4 Thai employees to 1 foreigner ratio — unless it is BOI-promoted, in which case the ratio is relaxed.

Can I convert a tourist visa to a Business Visa in Thailand?

Yes. If you are in Thailand on a Tourist Visa (TR) or visa-exempt entry, you can convert your status to Non-Immigrant B inside the country — provided you have at least 15 days remaining on your stamp and your Thai employer or company has the full document set ready. We handle the conversion at Phuket Immigration.

How long is a Non-B visa valid?

The Non-B visa is initially issued for 90 days (Single Entry) or 1 year (Multiple Entry, with each stay limited to 90 days). Inside Thailand the visa can be extended to a full 1-year stay at Phuket Immigration, once you also hold a Thai Work Permit. The 1-year extension is renewable annually.

What documents does my Thai employer need to provide?

Standard set: invitation letter, company affidavit (no older than 6 months), list of shareholders, VAT registration (PHO PHO 20), social fund registration, financial statements for the last 1–2 years, tax returns and the director's ID copy. We send a clean checklist to your HR on day one.

What is BOI and how does it help with the Business Visa?

BOI is the Thailand Board of Investment. Companies that receive BOI promotion enjoy benefits like faster visa and Work Permit processing through BOI One Stop Service in Bangkok, relaxed Thai-to-foreign employee ratios, and additional tax incentives. We work with BOI documentation directly when your company is BOI-promoted.

Where is the Phuket Immigration Office for Business Visa?

Business Visa applications are processed at the Phuket Provincial Immigration Office, 482 Phuket Rd, Tambon Talat Yai, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000. Working hours: Mon–Fri 08:30–16:30. We meet you on site or pick you up from your hotel area.

Can I bring my family on a Business Visa?

Yes. Your spouse and children under 20 can apply for a Non-Immigrant O dependent visa attached to your Non-B. They get the same validity and the same 1-year extension cycle. We process the dependent visas together with the main applicant.
